International engagement

esisuisse’s expertise is also applied in the international arena. For example, esisuisse is actively involved in committees and projects of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) and the European Forum of Deposit Insurers (EFDI).
In particular, esisuisse’s numerous international connections help to promote understanding of Swiss deposit insurance abroad.

Lucas Metzger has worked as an expert for IADI in assessing compliance with the BCBS/IADI Core Principles for Effective Deposit Insurance since 2011. In this capacity, he has provided advice on deposit insurance to Kenya, Albania, South Korea, Kosovo, Brazil, Vietnam and Trinidad Tobago. He is also involved in discussions with international financial market regulatory organisations about the interpretation and continuing development of standard setting and implementation, in particular in relation to bank resolution and deposit insurance.
